More Than a Punch List: What STUpendous Services Can Handle

Sometimes, the easiest way to understand how far you have come is to write everything down.

Recently, I was preparing a punch list for a contractor I know. The goal was simple: explain the types of work I can confidently handle if he ever needs help completing a project, serving a customer, or clearing the smaller items that tend to accumulate at the end of a job.

That list became much longer than I expected.

STUpendous Services has grown through real projects, real homes, and real problems that needed practical solutions. The work includes general handyman repairs, carpentry, painting, deck restoration, smart-home installation, technology support, and small-business services.

General Handyman and Carpentry Work

My handyman work includes door and hardware adjustments, weatherstripping, trim repairs, caulking, furniture assembly, mailbox installation, mounting, and general punch-list completion.

Carpentry projects have included deck-board replacement, stair and railing repairs, blocking, reinforcement, custom wood shaping, and basic fabrication. I approach each project by first understanding what failed, why it failed, and whether repair or replacement makes the most sense.

Deck Restoration and Painting

One of my largest completed projects involved restoring a residential deck from the boards up.

The work included replacing damaged boards, sanding the entire structure, removing failed coatings, preparing the surfaces, and applying separate finishing products to the walking surfaces and handrails.

Painting services also include porches, trim, interior and exterior surfaces, priming, sanding, filling, and detailed preparation. The finished coat matters, but the preparation underneath it is what determines whether the work lasts.

Smart Homes, Technology, and Troubleshooting

Technology is where STUpendous Services differs from many traditional handyman businesses.

I install and troubleshoot smart lighting, switches, sensors, cameras, thermostats, smart locks, Alexa devices, Google Home products, Zigbee systems, Matter devices, and Home Assistant automations.

I also handle Wi-Fi optimization, access points, routers, printers, computers, streaming devices, remotes, and home-office setups.

A customer may need a cabinet repaired in one room and a printer connected in another. That combination does not feel unusual here.

Customer Communication Is Part of the Work

Completing the physical task is only one part of providing a good service.

I help customers understand their options, choose materials, compare repair against replacement, and plan future maintenance. I document work, provide progress updates, and communicate clearly about what is included, what is not included, and what I discover along the way.

I am insured through my own LLC, work independently, bring my own tools, and know when a task should be referred to a licensed specialist.

Built Through Experience

This capability list was not assembled from services I hope to offer someday. It came from completed projects: residential deck restoration, mailbox-post replacement, porch and exterior painting, cabinet and wood repairs, door and hardware adjustments, lighting upgrades, furniture and entertainment-center assembly, printer and computer setup, smart-home installations, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and website, SEO, and small-business support.
